The Israel Festival fosters the arts in Israel supporting new works by Israeli artists as well as artists from all over the world.  The festival includes musical and performing arts programs with the majority of performances taking place in Jerusalem. There are also free performances including street theatre and children's shows. Established in 1984, the Jerusalem Film Festival attracts a wide range of audiences at varitey of venues. The festival is ten days long, screening between 150-200 films in a number of programs: The festival showcases international feature films; documentary films, jewish experience films,  television dramas, new drectors and Israeli films.

Hebrew Book Week
June 10th - 20th
The annual Hebrew Book week will be held 9 cities and 40 towns accross Israel.   Thousands of books from dozens of Israeili publishers will be on display and sale.  The Jerusalem event will be held at Liberty Bell Park. In Tel Aviv, major events will be held in Rabin Square. Book Fairs will also be held in Haifa (Grand Kenyon), Netanya (Heichal Hatarbut), Holon (Mediatheque plaza), Modiin (Azrieli), Rishon Lezion, Beer Sheva (Arts Center).
Tel Aviv's Nahalat Binyamin Arts and Crafts
Arts, crafts, pottery, and street performances, Nachalat Binyamin offers a pleasant stroll and some pretty bits and pieces, vendors display their merchandise on little tables along the paved part of Nachalat Binyamin St.

Madonna's World Tour to include Israel

Madonna will add to her world tour one show in Israel.  The queen of pop is not coming to tour Israel or to attend a Kabbalah conference this time. Madonna will give one concert at Hayarkon Park on September 1, 2009.  Madonna has toured Israel in the past and performed in Israel 16 years ago. 

Madonna's last visit to Israel was in 2007, when she came to Israel to visit the Kabbalah Center with her husband at the time Guy Richie.  Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher came along with her. Read Madonna tour to Israel article.
